Late '60s and early '70s, my grandpa had a machine shop and did machining on many engines. I got to go to the pits with him and was always proud of seeing "Don Boring's Machine Shop" on the side of some of the cars. In the winter, it was a similar experience for snow machine races (just colder). Special memories of growing up in Anchorage.
Can't remember which track, but 1962 when I 1st got my license we would go to the race on June 21st..Summer Solstice..many celebrations around town, one of which was the races starting at midnight Without Lights...Fun and Special
