I’ll be 81 on February 12, 2025 and the only time I was in Anchorage was in June 1967. I drove to Alaska from St Paul MN with my wife and her parents. We first visited Fairbanks and then drove down to Anchorage. We took the train up to Mount McKinley National Park where we stayed at the hotel and took a bus tour. Then we took the train back to Anchorage where we stayed at a hotel for two nights. I don’t recall the name of the restaurant in Anchorage but it was a nice place to eat. My order included a large bowl of clams in the shell. After our Anchorage visit we drove down to Haines where we boarded the ferry to Prince Rupert. From Prince Rupert we took another ferry to Kelsey Bay on Vancouver Island. Then we drove south and boarded another ferry to the mainland. We went up in the Space Needle and rode the Monorail in Seattle, visited my wife’s brother in Puyallup WA and finally drove back home to St Paul.
